Jean-Marie Le Pen, the founding father of France’s far-right Nationwide Entrance get together and a controversial determine in French politics, has died on the age of 96.
Le Pen reached the second spherical of the 2002 French presidential election in a second that shocked France and led voters to vote closely for his opponent Jacques Chirac to dam the far proper from energy.

In a press release to AFP, Le Pen’s household stated that he had died on Tuesday at noon.
Jordan Bardella, president of RN, confirmed Le Pen’s demise in a press release on X.
Paying tribute to the far-right chief, he stated that Le Pen had “at all times served France, defended its identification and its sovereignty”, as each a political chief and soldier within the French military in Vietnam and Algeria.
“At present I feel with disappointment of his household, his family members, and naturally of Marine whose mourning should be revered,” he stated.
